At the summit, standing 14,115 feet above sea level, take in sweeping panoramic views from the Great Plains to the Rocky Mountains and explore the modern Summit Visitor Center.

Descend & Scenic Stops

As you descend, enjoy a relaxed picnic lunch at a scenic halfway stop surrounded by mountain views. Continue with a photo stop along Pikes Peak Highway, where you’ll capture unforgettable views of the summit and the winding road you’ve just traveled.

Explore the Garden of the Gods

Continue to the world-renowned Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. Towering red sandstone formations, sculpted over millions of years by geological uplift and erosion, rise dramatically against the backdrop of Pikes Peak. Early explorers described this landscape as a place “fit for the gods,” and the name has endured. Walk among iconic formations like Balanced Rock and Kissing Camels and experience one of Colorado’s most photographed landscapes.

Visitor Center & Scenic Return

Before departing, stop at the Garden of the Gods Visitor Center or Trading Post for time to browse souvenirs, grab a beverage, or enjoy a light snack before the return journey. A brief drive through Manitou Springs adds a touch of historic mountain-town charm, rounding out this immersive Colorado experience.

Pikes Peak Highway is open year-round. If the summit is not accessible due to weather or road conditions, we will travel to the highest safely accessible point.
